Planning

The Planning Division is responsible for managing the City's long-range and current land use planning efforts. We work closely with residents, developers, and community stakeholders to implement the City’s General Plan and ensure that development aligns with Suisun City’s vision for the future. We help maintain a quality community by ensuring that all proposed projects align with the City’s General Plan, zoning code, and development standards.

Our staff oversees both long-range and day-to-day land use planning to support the City’s vision. Through our development application process, we review new proposals, modifications to existing uses, and ensure consistency with local, regional, and state regulations—including the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

We work closely with the Building and Public Works departments to review projects. Major proposals are presented to the Planning Commission or City Council for approval based on community standards and City Code requirements.
