The City Clerk serves as the local elections official and coordinates with the Solano County Registrar of Voters to conduct municipal elections. The City of Suisun City consolidates its regular general municipal elections with statewide elections held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each even-numbered year to fill the Mayor, City Council, City Treasurer and City Clerk expired terms. Elections are conducted in accordance with the California Elections Code and local regulations.
The next Suisun City General Municipal Election is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for the purpose of electing the following officers for a Full Term of Four Years:
One Mayor
Two Members of the City Council
A Candidate Handbook, including official Nomination Papers and Campaign Filing information will be available by appointment with the City Clerk or Deputy City Clerk at the time nomination papers are issued. It is recommended that individuals interested in becoming a candidate for elective office contact the City Clerk’s Office for more information. Appointments for the issuance and acceptance of nomination papers can be made by contacting the City Clerk at (707) 421-7302 or clerk@suisun.com.
The nomination period for the 2026 General Municipal will open in mid-July 2026. Exact nomination dates and additional information will be updated and posted online in early 2026. Nomination documents are only issued during the official nomination period, must be obtained from the City Clerk, and filed between the posted dates.

Extension of Nomination Period
If an incumbent does not submit nomination papers by the deadline, the nomination period for that elected office will be extended to 5:00 p.m. on poste date. This extension is not applicable where there is no incumbent eligible to be elected.
