Prosperity Garden Park




Prosperity Garden Park will be located on a City owned 1.9 acre lot west of Blossom Ave along the canal of Laurel Creek. Project will consist of a community garden along with a mini-park with recreation features at its entryway. Features include a secure perimeter, a vegetative screen to protect adjacent homes, restrooms, storage area, & rentable plots and raised beds.
Budget
Total Project Cost = $2,040,000
- American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Funding - $375,000
- CA Department of Parks and Recreation ‘Specified Grant’ Funding - $780,000
- Suisun City Park Development Funds - $885,000
Update – 3/12/26
The Recreation, Parks & Marina Department hosted a well-attended ribbon cutting ceremony for Prosperity Park on February 25, officially opening the first neighborhood park in the Blossom neighborhood. Assemblymember Lori Wilson, Mayor Alma Hernandez, and City Manager Bret Prebula all offered remarks highlighting the background of the project, the role of state funding, and the impact that the new park will have on community wellbeing going forward. Photos from the event are attached for reference.
During the program, we also announced the grand opening date for the Prosperity Garden community garden: Wednesday, April 29 at 10:00 a.m. Community members who are interested in renting a garden plot are encouraged to complete the interest form at www.tinyurl.com/prosperitygardeninterest so staff can follow up with next steps and additional information as the opening approaches.
Montebello Vista Park Revitalization

This project will feature the conversion of the grass playing field into a synthetic field surface, facility inclusive of restroom, snack bar, and storage, and new shade structure near the playground area.

Total Project Cost – $3,105,000
- CA Department of Parks and Recreation ‘Specified Grant’ Funding - $1,720,000
- Suisun City Park Development Funds - $1,385,000
Update –3/31/26
Construction for the synthetic turf replacement began on Monday, 3/16. Site staking, mobilization, and tree removal are underway at the moment. For the duration of the project, the playground at Montebello is expected to remain open for public use. All aspects of the project, including synthetic turf replacement, shade structure, multi-sport court, and restroom facility are on pace to be completed in Q4 2026.
Heritage Park Enhancement


Project will include the rehabilitation of the existing basketball court surface, the addition of a multi-sport court, and the construction of a covered picnic pavilion. The mini-pitch is funded through National Recreation and Park Association's Youth Sports Equity Grant Program.

Estimated Total Project Cost – $911,000
- Project fully funded through Park Development Funds
Update –3/12/26
The construction of the mini-pitch was completed in January 2026, but remains closed to the public due to fine grading of the surrounding area and amenities needing to be installed. Contractors are still awaiting the delivery of the picnic pavilion, so completion is now expected in Q2 2026.
Goepp Park Playground Revitalization
Project will replace the existing, outdated playground structure and add improvements such as a tot lot, four swings, and a miniature whirl. This is part of the California Park and Recreation Society's (CPRS) Statewide Healthy Play Initiative, and the playground site will be designated as a National Demonstration Site by PlayCore.

Estimated City Contribution to Project – $125,000
- Funded through Park Development Funds
Update –3/31/26
Playground fiber will be delivered and installed this week, which is the last task of the project before being ready for opening. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, 4/6 at 10:30am to officially open the playground!
