City of Suisun City to Host Development Agreement Workshop
Published on July 07, 2026
Public workshop set for July 14 will educate residents on Development Agreements and gather early community input on potential community benefits
SUISUN CITY, Calif. — The City of Suisun City Development Services Department invites the community to participate in a Development Agreement Fundamentals: Community Workshop on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Joseph A. Nelson Community Center, 611 Village Drive, Suisun City, CA 94585.
The workshop will provide an overview of the general framework and fundamentals of Development Agreements, including what they are, how they function, the role they play in the development process, potential community benefits, and how they are implemented. In addition to providing educational information, the workshop will introduce several projects that may require Development Agreements as part of their respective entitlement processes. The workshop will include an educational overview and breakout sessions in which members of the public may provide input on community-benefit priorities of general application.
Community participation is strongly encouraged. This interactive workshop is intended to provide residents, business owners, and stakeholders with an opportunity to share their perspectives on the types of community benefits they believe are most important to the long-term success of Suisun City. Feedback received during the workshop will help inform discussions early in the development review process.
"This workshop is a chance for our community to learn about Development Agreements and share with us what community benefits matter most. This is an opportunity to engage with residents, business owners, and stakeholders early in the process and prior to formal review of several key projects throughout the City that may include Development Agreements." said Ricky Caperton, AICP, Development Services Director.
Notice Regarding Attendance by City Council and Planning Commission Members
Members of the City Council and/or Planning Commission, along with other City committees or commissions, who are present, will be welcomed and introduced. This is an informal community workshop rather than a regular business meeting; accordingly, no formal roll call will be taken, and the presence or absence of a quorum of either body does not affect the workshop's ability to proceed as an educational and public-input event open to all members of the community.
Members of the City Council, Planning Commission, and/or other City committees and commissions may attend the workshop to listen to and observe community input. However, because this is an informational workshop led by the Development Services Department and no action will be taken, Councilmembers and/or Commissioners will not discuss or deliberate on any specific projects during the event. This notice, and the workshop format described above, are intended to comply with the Ralph M. Brown Act (California Government Code Section 54950 et seq.), including Government Code Section 54952.2, governing attendance by members of a legislative body at gatherings that are not meetings of that body.
We ask that you direct any input or feedback prior to and during the workshop to Ricky Caperton, AICP, Development Services Director, at rcaperton@suisun.com.
