At the April 4, 2023 City Council meeting, Marlon Osum was appointed to the vacant seat previously held by Mike Hudson. Marlon L. Osum (65) has a stated occupation as a Retired Care Provider and has served from 2015 to present as a member of the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority Advisory Committee, and from 2019 to present as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Solano County Mosquito Abatement District.

After his appointment Mr. Osum stated that he strives to live by the following quote by George Bernard Shaw, “Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream of things that never were and I ask, why not?” Mr. Osum also stated, “I strongly believe I can effectively collaborate with the current leadership and the City Council via new and innovative ideas and approaches to governance, leverage up to date tools and technologies for strategic planning, lead generation, and other areas to achieve the City’s goals and objectives.” Mr. Osum will be sworn in at the next City Council meeting on April 18th.

According to Mayor Alma Hernandez, “I’m excited to have a full council once again and I think Marlon Osum is going to be a great asset to us on the Suisun City Council as he brings another perspective to Council that can help us as we address upcoming challenges and opportunities this year. I look forward to his contributions in continuing to move Suisun City forward and improving this great city.”
