Suisun City is excited to announce a special event taking place on Jan. 24 from 5–7 p.m. Our community is invited to join in Illuminating Suisun City as the city permanently lights 37 trees along the waterfront and Harbor Plaza, accompanied by festivities featuring food trucks and live music.

“These decorated trees light up our downtown in more ways than one — they symbolize opportunity, pride and a bright future for Suisun City,” said Mayor Alma Hernandez. “We look forward to sharing this moment with the community that makes our city such a special place to live, work and play.”

Festivities begin at 5 p.m. with food available for purchase and live musical performances. The lighting ceremony will follow from 6 to 7 p.m., marking the launch of a permanent installation of illuminated trees, generously provided to the city by California Forever through a Downtown Revitalization Grant.

“Contributing to the beautification of Suisun City is a key priority,” said City Manager Bret Prebula. “These beautiful new lights reflect the pride and spirit of our community, revitalizing the heart of our city. We are excited to celebrate local businesses, culture and food as we ring in this milestone investment into our city.

Residents are encouraged to mingle and enjoy the food and entertainment along the waterfront and harbor, with the official lighting taking place on the Harbor Plaza stage.

“Downtown Suisun City is a gem of Solano County,” said Michael Fortney, Head of Partnerships for California Forever, “and we believe that vibrant public spaces are the heartbeat of any thriving community. We’re proud to work alongside city leadership and provide the funds to make Suisun City sparkle, not just to brighten the waterfront, but to support the local businesses and families who make this city so special. It is part of our long-term commitment to the city and its vision for a bright and bustling downtown.”

Join this celebration of Suisun City and our continued commitment to improving the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
