Your park. Your ideas. Help us plan what comes next for Mike Day Memorial Park!

Join the City of Suisun City’s Recreation, Parks, and Marina Department and park designers from Melton Design Group on Thursday, November 12, 2026, starting at 5:30 p.m., for a community park workshop.

With a new playground on its way, we’re looking ahead to other ways to improve the park—and we want to hear from you. What would you like to do at Mike Day? What would make it more comfortable, accessible, and welcoming for you and your family?

We’ll meet at the Mike Day Park playground next to City Hall for a brief walk-through and discussion of what works today and what could be better. Then we’ll head into City Hall Council Chambers for a hands-on design session, where we’ll share ideas and mark potential improvements on a park map.

What to expect

Share your ideas for new activities and places to gather.
Discuss where improvements should go and why.
Explore ideas for shade, safety, accessibility, and park appearance.
Talk with City staff, park designers, and your neighbors.

The workshop is free and open to all ages. Children are encouraged to participate and share their ideas, too! Please dress for the weather during the outdoor portion.

Why we’re asking for your input

The City is preparing an application for California State Parks’ Statewide Park Program, Round 5, a competitive grant opportunity supporting new parks and park renovations. Your ideas will help shape the improvements proposed for Mike Day Memorial Park. Grant funding is not guaranteed, but this is an opportunity to develop a plan that reflects the community’s priorities.

November 18: RPMA Commission community-design discussion at City Hall Council Chambers.
December 1: Anticipated update and follow-up discussion at scheduled RPMA Commission meeting.
December 5: Visit the park-design station at Christmas on the Waterfront.
