Join the City of Suisun City Recreation, Parks and Marina Department for a vibrant evening honoring the traditions, memories, and spirit of Día de los Muertos.

Bring your family and friends to the Joseph Nelson Community Center on Sunday, November 1, from 6:00–10:00 p.m. for a free community celebration filled with culture, music, food, dance, and remembrance. This special event invites our community to come together to celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed while sharing in the color, joy, and meaningful traditions of Día de los Muertos.

Enjoy an evening featuring:

• Beautiful community ofrendas (altars) created in remembrance of loved ones

• Traditional Ballet Folklórico performances

• Live music and dancing

• Delicious food available for purchase

• Beer for guests age 21 and over with valid identification

• Food and retail vendors

• A welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere celebrating culture, connection, and community

Día de los Muertos is a time to remember, honor, and celebrate those who came before us. We invite everyone to respectfully explore the ofrendas, enjoy the performances, support local vendors, and join us in recognizing this meaningful cultural tradition.

Create an Ofrenda

Community members, families, organizations, and businesses are invited to create an ofrenda as part of the celebration. An ofrenda is a personal altar created to honor and remember loved ones who have passed away. Participants are encouraged to thoughtfully decorate their altar with photographs, marigolds, candles, meaningful mementos, and other traditional or personal items.

Event Guidelines

To help ensure a safe, welcoming, and respectful event for all guests:

• No weapons of any kind are permitted, including firearms, knives, or pepper spray. This policy applies to all attendees, including individuals with concealed-carry permits.

• No drugs or outside alcohol are allowed in the event area.

• No pets are allowed in the event area.

• Guests are asked to respect the cultural significance of Día de los Muertos and treat all ofrendas, decorations, performers, vendors, and fellow attendees with care.

• Beer service is limited to guests age 21 and over with valid photo identification.
