Excessive Smoke from Wild Fires

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning due to forecast high north winds from 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, through 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14.

The change in wind direction and intensity is expected to change smoke behavior, meaning it could become less or more smokey from time to time in somewhat unpredictable patterns. Increased smoke is not a reliable indicator of fire danger given that smoke can be carried much further by wind conditions than fire.

Excessive smoke will continue to come into Suisun City until all the fires burning in Sonoma, Napa and upper Solano counties are fully extinguished. This is a health concern that should be taken seriously.  There is no current wildfire risk to Suisun City, nor is any anticipated. [Read more…]
