Through solar, energy efficiency and LED lighting upgrades, the City will reduce its energy use and generate clean energy through 350kW solar panels installed as parking lot canopies and a ground-mounted array.

Streetlights citywide will be upgraded to LED lighting to save money and improve visibility. New high-efficiency sports field lighting will be installed at Heritage Park and Lambrecht Sports Complex.

“Suisun City’s partnership with ENGIE Services U.S. was an easy decision for our City Council,” said Mayor Lori Wilson. “With a single project, the City will reduce its energy costs and save $12 million over the life of the project that can be reinvested into other City and neighborhood services.”

“The sustainable energy and LED lighting project will reduce the City’s electricity spending by 60% and offset greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to removing 50 cars from Suisun City’s streets annually,” said City Manager Greg Folsom.

The kick-off event will be held at Lambrecht Sports Complex, 4501 Petersen Road.
