Seeking Members for Commission for Women & Girls

The City is seeking girls and women who want to represent Suisun City as a member of the Solano County Commission for Women & Girls.

Applications and detailed Commission information can be found on the Commission website.  Applications are still being accepted from Suisun City residents.

On April 24, 2018, by the Solano County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution establishing the Solano Commission for Women and Girls. The mission of the Commission is to improve the economic status, health and social welfare, and overall quality of life for women and girls in Solano County.

The purpose of the Commission is to provide community education and advisement to the Solano County Board of Supervisors and other entities in the county on issues relating to the changing social and economic conditions of women and girls. 

The Commission will increase awareness of women’s issues, celebrate the achievements of local deserving women, champion opportunities for women and girls and recommend legislative solutions at the city, county, state and federal levels.

To accurately reflect the diversity of Solano County, the Commission designed established guidelines to include in the appointment process, a membership appointment from each city within Solano County. 

The City of Suisun City is requesting that interested girls and women with a desire to represent Suisun City as a member of the Solano Commission for Women and Girls apply online at https://www.solanocounty.com/civicax/filebank/blobdload.aspx?BlobID=28696.  Applications from Suisun City residents are still being accepted.
