Neighborhood Reinvestment Program

Applications Available Now! First Come, First Serve

Suisun City created the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program to

  • Help homeowners improve the safety, appearance and value of their homes
  • Enhance neighborhood pride
  • Reinvest in Suisun City neighborhoods

The City  is committed to bringing new economic vitality to the community through progressive, well-designed and livable development,  and  reinvestment in existing neighborhoods to ensure the long-term quality, value and availability of a variety of housing options.

The Neighborhood Reinvestment Program was designed specifically to provide assistance to homeowners struggling to maintain and improve their properties.

What funding is available?

The City will provide matching grants of up to $2,500 per household for qualifying improvements. The grants are designed to pay for 50 % to 80 % of the total project cost.

Homeowners must apply for the grant, describe the improvements being considered, and have the improvements approved by the Development Services Department. The work can be completed by the homeowner or by a contractor hired by the property owner to conduct specific work on the homeowners’ property.

Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

There is no reimbursement for work performed prior to grant approval by the Development Services Department.

Who is eligible?

To qualify for the program, homeowners may earn up to $99,100 a year for a family of four, or 120% of the area’s median annual income of $82,600.  See table below for income limits by household size.

For households making less than 80% of the area’s median income, an 80% matching grant is available. For example, on a $1,000 project, the homeowner would pay $200 and the City would pay $800.

For households making more than 80% of the area’s median income up to the maximum in the chart below, a 50% matching grant is available, meaning the City will cover half the cost of the improvements.  For example, on a $1,000 project, the homeowner would pay $500 and the City would pay $500.
