Fire Dept. to Conduct Live Burn Training Saturday

For the first time in several years, the Suisun City Fire Department will conduct a live burn within City limits.

From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday July 14, 2018, Fire personnel will light small fires in the vacant 30-acre lot located along the north side of Highway 12, west of Marina Boulevard.

The training will not only provide our veteran firefighters with a refresher, but it will also present our newest volunteers their first opportunity to see and extinguish a wildland fire. The experience that the members receive will assist them in protection Suisun City resident’s property and the grasslands surrounding the city.

Please be prepared for the possibility of high levels of smoke.  If there is smoke on any roadways obey all traffic laws and slow to safe speeds.

This is a controlled burn so sufficient personnel will be on hand to keep the fire from the training area.  Please do not call 911 to report smoke from this training.

The exercise may be canceled or rescheduled due to adverse weather conditions.
