Community Drop-Off Day Set for October 20

Community Drop-off Day-120The final Community Drop-Off Day of 2018 will be held on Saturday, October 20 from 8 a.m. to Noon behind Sunset Shopping Center near the Post Office. Vehicles must enter the driveway from Merganser Drive.

Solano Garbage also has added an Appliance Drop-Off program at it’s office. See below for more details.

City residents who pay for refuse services through Solano Garbage can bring one load of accumulated waste items up to 4 cubic-yards from their homes, garages or yards to the Drop-Off Days at no charge.

Suisun City residents must bring proof of residency (driver’s license and/or Solano Garbage bill) to drop off one load of up to 4 cubic yards.

Box-style vans over 12-feet or trailers in excess of 4 cubic yards will not be accepted.

The event accepts

  • e-Waste (remove all batteries)
  • Green waste, wood and tree branches
  • Appliances, sofas, mattresses & bed springs
  • Trash
  • Paper and cardboard
  • Clothing

No tires or any hazardous waste (e.g. paint, batteries, oil, antifreeze, etc.) will be accepted during Drop-Off Days. Residents are encouraged to contact Republic Services to arrange curbside pickup of used oil or to schedule an appointment to drop off other household hazardous waste items.

Donations of reusable items also can be made on-site to local non-profit organizations that partner with Republic Services.

Access to the event will be closed at Noon. Vehicles in line in the driveway between the Sunset Shopping Center and the Post Office off Merganser Drive by Noon will be allowed to deliver their load.

Additional Drop-Off Dates & Dump Pass Info

Four quarterly Drop-Off days will be held in 2018 under a contract with Republic Services/Solano Garbage on

  • June 9
  • August 11
  • October 20

Starting on January 1st of each year, 21 dump passes are available each month to Suisun City residents on a first come, first served basis (up to 250 per year). Authorized account holders desiring a dump coupon can get one while supplies are available at the Solano Garbage office at 2901 Industrial Court, Fairfield.  The coupon will be valid for one dump trip within 30 days of issuance.

Household Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) will not be collected during Drop-Off Days due to State transportation and handling regulations. Household Hazardous Waste can be disposed of free of charge from 9 a.m. to Noon on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month at the HHW Facility at 2901 Industrial Court in Fairfield.

HHW collection is not available Nov. 3 and Dec. 1, 2018.

Appliance Drop-Off

In addition to the Drop-off Days and dump pass programs, Solano Garbage has started an Appliance Drop-Off program in which customers can dispose of appliances at Solano Garbage Offices at 2901 Industrial Court, Fairfield (off Peabody) on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed Noon to 1 p.m.); and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to Noon on the following 2018 schedule:

  • February 2 & 3, and February 9 & 10
  • April 6 & 7, and April 13 & 14
  • June 1 & 2, and June 8 & 9
  • August 3 & 4, and August 10 & 11
  • October 5 & 6, and October 12 & 13
