If you’re keen to get involved in community planning for Suisun City, you might want to join an upcoming workshop at the Joe Nelson Community Center on June 8, 2019 from 9-10AM. The workshop is hosted by the Suisun City Planning Division and the Suisun City Police Department — this workshop will identify concerns and opportunities for improvement in the noise ordinance, and organize community discussions and feedback. CAP Solano Announces Housing Grant Award

The Community Action Partnership (CAP) Solano has awarded $4.8 million in local housing innovation grants to build affordable housing and provide supportive services in Solano County.

The funding, awarded to CAP Solano by Partnership HealthPlan of California (PHC), will provide $3.5 million for housing projects and $1.1 million for housing and supportive services projects to expand access to local housing for Medi-Cal members enrolled with PHC.

The grant awards were made following a competitive process through which various organizations responded to a formal Request for Proposals seeking projects to utilize the funds.

“We are so pleased with the overwhelming community response the CAP Solano JPA has received in response to these Requests for Proposals,” said Kathy Lawton-Caesar, Chair of the CAP Solano JPA. “It reflects the great public interest in solving the crisis of homelessness and housing instability facing our community. We are extremely grateful to PHC for funding projects in Solano County which will improve the health and housing stability of our most vulnerable residents.”
