Application

The City of Suisun City is opening the application period to begin accepting applications for Storefront Retailers within the City.

However, this initial RFA period will be for a single storefront retailer. The application period will open January 9, 2020 and closed May 7, 2020. After release of the RFA, City staff will hold a workshop on January 28, 2020 at 2pm at Suisun City Hall (701 Civic Center Boulevard, Suisun City, CA 94585). Staff has created this webpage to provides documents relevant to the City’s cannabis regulations and the subject RFA. These documents can be accessed via the links below.

Additionally, staff will be accepting questions via the department email address developmentservices@suisun.com as well as via phone (707.421.7335). Email is preferred.

Suisun City Cannabis History

On January 28, 2020 at 2:00PM in the City Council Chambers a Cannabis Workshop was held. At the workshop Staff went over the application process and answered questions from those who attended. Click here for a video of the workshop.

On January 21, 2020 at 7:00PM the Planning Commission will be considering making a recommendation to the City Council regarding amendments to the City’s cannabis regulations. Amendments will include a possible increase in allowed retail storefronts, as well as additional zoning districts where such uses would be allowed.

On May 29th 2018 City Council adopted Ordinance No. 750 to allow one Cannabis Dispensary in possession of a permit to operate.

In October 2015, the state legislature passed three bills to regulate medical marijuana. These bills affect state and local government licensing and permitting of medical marijuana businesses, attempt to protect local control of the medical marijuana industry and create a statewide framework for additional oversight of industry practices.
