The Economic Development Department coordinates the City’s efforts to support and expand the local economy, including urging new businesses to locate in the City and working with existing businesses to become even more successful.
A key role of the Department is to make connections involving and fostering
Since the Redevelopment Agency was dissolved by the State effective in February 2012, the Department also serves as the staff to the Successor Agency and the Oversight Board, which are charged with winding down redevelopment operations and distributing the assets to other taxing entities as required by State law.

- Manages various public buildings, such as Lawler House, the Suisun City Train Station and Harbor Theater
