Artccupy Suisun Beautifies Waterfront District

ArtccupySUISUN CITY – A new movement is afoot in Suisun City with the goal of bringing art and beauty to the community by creating artistic works on store windows first in the Waterfront District then across the City.

Dubbed “Artccupy Suisun,” the movement is the brain child of local resident Aria Zuloaga-Walker and is being supported by very talented artists affiliated with the Fairfield Visual Arts Association and the Lawler House Gallery.

The first project was to paint dozens of windows in Harbor Square. Ms. Zuloaga-Walker is already in discussions to spread the project to other Waterfront District properties and into the Marina Center.

 The Community in Action

Artccupy is another example of how Suisun City residents continue to improve their community. It’s just what is described in one of City Manager Suzanne Bragdon’s favorite books.

For the Love of Cities is a book about each and everyone taking a part of making Suisun City awesome,” Ms. Bragdon said. “When we love something… Love our community… We take care of it.  We work to make us all prosper. It’s a grassroots effort that we are seeing everywhere – saving the July 4th celebration, the community foundation working to save more events, the Kroc Center. And now Artccupy Suisun!”
