SUISUN CITY — Come help us plan a Community Garden for Suisun City. If you’ve always wanted to grow your own vegetables but a lack of space stopped you, then this could be the perfect opportunity.

The Suisun City Recreation and Community Services Department will host an interest meeting to determine how to proceed in planning and developing a community garden. The meeting is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday May 13 in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 701 Civic Center Blvd.

If you have an interest in participating in planting, maintaining, and harvesting your own garden plot please attend this meeting. If you are not able to attend the meeting call the Recreation & Community Services Department at 707-421-7200 or email us at screc@suisun.com and let us know of your interest.

Initial plans call for garden plots to be 10 feet by 10 feet with an anticipated annual cost of $25-30 per plot to help defray the cost of water. Plots would be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Rules of utilization will be determined by a committee of gardeners reserving seasonal plots.

The parcel of land that is being looked at is at the northeast corner of Lotz Way and Civic Center Boulevard in the Waterfront District.
