**Important Program Update**

Due to the decision by Gov. Jerry Brown and the California Legislature to end redevelopment, funding for this program is suspended pending further action.

Updates will be posted as they become available.

The Suisun City Redevelopment Agency created the Neighborhood Reinvestment Program to

  • Help homeowners improve the safety, appearance and value of their homes
  • Enhance neighborhood pride
  • Reinvest in Suisun City neighborhoods

The Redevelopment Agency is committed to bringing new economic vitality to Suisun City through progressive, well-designed and livable development,  and  reinvestment in existing neighborhoods to ensure the long-term quality, value and availability of a variety of housing options.

What funding is available?

The Redevelopment Agency will provide matching grants of up to $2,500 per household for qualifying improvements. The grants are designed to pay for 50 % to 80 % of the total project cost.

Homeowners must apply for the grant, describe the improvements being considered, and have the improvements approved by the Community Development Department and the Redevelopment Agency. The work can be completed by the homeowner or by a contractor hired by the property owner to conduct specific work on the homeowners’ property.

Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.

There is no reimbursement for work performed prior to grant approval by the Redevelopment Agency.

  • Landscaping improvements
  • Replacement of windows visible from the street
  • Garage doors
  • Roofs

Other improvements may be considered on a case by case basis

Who is eligible?

To qualify for the program, homeowners may earn up to $95,300 a year for a family of four, or 120% of the area’s median annual income of $79,400 .  See table below for income limits by household size.

For households that earn less than 80% of the area’s median income (or $59,200 for a family of four), an 80% matching grant is available. For example, on a $1,000 project, the homeowner would pay $200 and the Redevelopment Agency would pay $800.

For households making more than 80% of the area’s median income up to the maximum in the chart below, a 50% matching grant is available, meaning the Redevelopment Agency will cover half the cost of the improvements.  For example, on a $1,000 project, the homeowner would pay $500 and the Redevelopment Agency would pay $500.
