The Suisun City Senior Center is operated by the Suisun City Recreation and Community Services Department.
The Center offers a broad variety of programs for local residents over the age of 50. The goal is to provide give seniors a resource and social interaction with other seniors while providing support through social services, nutrition, recreation and travel opportunities.
The center is also a form of resource to those seeking information on a variety of subjects.
Reduced-fare taxi cards also are available.
Most events are at no or low cost to the senior and every senior is welcome and encouraged to attend. Monthly newsletters are available to those seeking information on what we offer or they may call or visit the center.
The following programs are offered on an ongoing basis:
- computer class
- use of computer to seniors
- bingo
- movies
- hot lunch served every day
- craft class
- knitting and crochet
- exercise
- cards
- Bible study
- monthly dinner-dance
- public health nurse
- trips
- super-Saturday (center open once a month for cards, bingo movies and hot dogs)
- quarterly yard sales (all welcome to participate)
- special social functions
- educational and informational programs consisting of topics from legal aid to medical aid
- social functions from dinners, gatherings and other events
