SUISUN CITY There’s nothing more frustrating or potentially dangerous than heading down a street at night without streetlights unless, of course, the street light outside your bedroom window continues to go off and on repeatedly all night long! That’s why the Public Works Department has launched “Let It Shine,” a new campaign designed to encourage residents to phone in information about malfunctioning street lights. Kicking off this campaign, staff drove the City at night and checked on each and every street light. That’s approximately 1,570 lights! The survey indicated that we have about 4.5% of lights with some type of problem. By dedicating staff to these repairs, all should be operational in less than 11 weeks. That is, unless, more lights fail. And that’s where you come in. Whenever you see a street light that isn’t working properly, call the Public Works Corporation Yard 24-hours a day at 707-421-7349. Before you call, please collect as specific an address location for the light pole as possible or the identification number on the pole. After regular business hours, please leave a message so crews can promptly schedule the light for repair. By working together and reporting street light outages, you can help our crews keep Suisun City shining! |
